Up Close and Personal

This Unite event held at the Village Underground in Shoreditch was a creative tour de force from start to finish.

The location itself inspired before even a hair had been teased. A cavernous space of bare brick climbed its way up to the ceiling where the light flooded in through three huge skylights, creating the perfect backdrop!

Four empty podiums lay in wait for their incumbent stylists, whilst a crowd of wantonly fashion hungry hairdressers gathered. The days events came via an introduction from the founder of Unite Eurotherapy, the man himself, Andrew Dale, accompanied by Marcus Allen Head of Urban Retreat Harrods. Once welcomed the hairdressing began in earnest, kicking off with the Unite Art Team followed by the Hair Club Live Art Team, and talented special guests from around the world. All aspects of hairdressing were expertly covered during the day, from the more commercial to the Avant Garde and everything in between; it was inspirational to say the least.
The thing that really made this event stand out, apart from the talent on show, was the set up; which with no seating as such, allowed you to roam freely between podiums creating a very fluid and organic learning experience that was filled with discussion, debate and contemplation.
We as a salon have not stopped talking about the day, and have already taken some of the ideas and put them into action.

Well done to all at Unite for such an amazing event, we cant wait for the next one. . .
